Her Dark Wings

What an atmospheric and haunting book. A retelling of Hades and Persephone that was fresh, concentrating on Corey (the main character and boy did it take me a while to cotton on that it was a play on Persephone's other name, Kore) and her relationship with her best friend and the Furies (yes!!!!!) It went unexpected ways sometimes which was just lovely. Salisbury has a way of making you appreciate the little things in life, I adored her decriptions of gardening and the connection Corey felt to her garden and I hate gardening myself. so big kudos to Ms Salisbury, gave it 4.75 on storygraph (0.25 was taken away because I wanted some sort of explanation of Demeter, dammit!)
