The Breadwinner

The Breadwinner is a story about a girl named Parvana living in Taliban-controlled Afghanistan. After her father is jailed for no apparent reason, Parvana dresses as a boy and earns money for her family by doing jobs such as reading and writing letters, selling food, and even digging up graves to sell the bones! I would definitely recommend this book to a friend, as I found it very interesting, giving a realistic view of the life of a young woman in Afghanistan. I ogive this book five stars as I adored the storytelling and it was a beautiful book. Show more Show less
