great read.
The boldness of Betty is by irish author Anna Carey. It is set during the 1913 Dublin lockdown.
Betty is a fourteen year old girl who has recently left school to go and work in a cake shop called Lawlors, where Mrs Warby the mean, bossy manager tells gives out to them. But one day mrs Warby tells them they have to work more hours with no extra pay, so the walk out!
The book is about Betty's life on the picket line and her everyday life . It is a really good book and tells you a lot about historic events in Ireland as well. I would recommend it mainly to people aged 10 to 12.
